  • Apply for Life membership

    Life membership recognises and rewards the commitment of full and fellow members and so by paying a one-off fee you can become a member for life. To be eligible you have to be fully retired, undertaking voluntary work, or in paid employment up to an annual earnings limit of £1,000 per annum. The fee you pay will depend on how long you have been an AAT full or fellow member, any periods of lapsed membership will not be counted.

    How do we use your data?

    All the information we hold concerning you will be processed by AAT in accordance with internal policies and current regulations.

    The data will be used by AAT to administer our relationship with you and to provide you with information and services relevant to you. We won’t, without your consent, supply your information to any third party except where such transfer is necessary as part of the activity you are undertaking, or where we’re required to by law.

  • AAT life membership declaration

    I understand that I may be contacted annually to ensure I continue to meet the conditions of life membership.

    I understand that should my circumstances change and I return to paid employment or my earnings exceed £1,000 annually, I will notify AAT immediately and may need to resume paying the reduced rate or full subscription.

    I understand that if I am undertaking voluntary work or earning under £1,000 annually, I will need to continue to comply with AAT’s CPD policy and demonstrate such compliance when requested to do so by AAT.

    Once we’ve received your Life membership application, we’ll send you an email within ten working days with details of how to pay the one-off Life membership fee online. Your application won't be assessed until payment has been made. If you have a Direct Debit already set up with us, this will be used for your fee.

    If your application is unsuccessful or withdrawn, the Life membership fee is refundable only where certain conditions are met. You can find out more at: aat.org.uk/refund-policy

    If you do  not currently have a direct debit to collect payment for your existing professional membership, but would like your life membership fee to be collected in instalments by Direct Debit the Direct Debit form, must be completed before you submit this application.  Please use the above link to set this up and then continue to complete the application. You can choose to pay in up to four instalments.
